5.

I swing from the ellipses in speech where people pause to catch their breath waiting for me to slowly step away but I cannot.
For my head is held too high and my feet don’t touch the ground.

Nonsense is easy to spew when you’ve got a few mouths,
but it’s tricky to try and be truthful when you’re so good at lying down and sitting ‘round,
as eagerly suspicious as a day old baguette.

So you sit and stare and count the seconds that point and laugh in your civilized face.

And there’s no human race but a human saunter..
And you’re the frosting scraped off a piece of cake sitting on a plate while the birthday girl cries.

The shopping mall reeks with the scent of malevolence and bad credit scores,
but you’ve made your bed and now you have to die in it.
